MONTGOMERY, AL -- U.S. Representative Martha Roby (R-AL) today announced that the National Rifle Association (NRA) has endorsed her campaign for reelection in Alabama's Second Congressional District.
In a letter to Representative Roby, the NRA praised her staunch support of Americans' Second Amendment right and specifically cited her work on the Judiciary and Appropriations committees:
"Thank you for standing strong for freedom and defending NRA members and law-abiding gun owners in Alabama and throughout the United States," said Chris Cox, Chairman of the NRA Political Victory Fund. "NRA members and gun owners thank you for being a strong ally on the Judiciary Committee and on the House floor during passage of the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act... In addition, we appreciate that as a member of the House Appropriations Committee, you played a key role in the fight against unconstitutional attacks on our Second Amendment freedoms, even in the face of stiff opposition from anti-gun advocates like Nancy Pelosi."
Representative Roby expressed appreciation for the NRA's endorsement and pledged continued dedication to defending Americans' constitutional right to keep and bear arms:
"I appreciate the strong support of the NRA and the important work they do to advocate for law-abiding Americans' constitutional right to keep and bear arms. As a gun owner myself, I will not stop fighting against the unconstitutional anti-gun movement."
